Official launch of the Mike Koedinger Foundation as pressure on the media grows

The Mike Koedinger Foundation was officially launched at Mudam Luxembourg on Thursday evening, 25 June, with a speech by its founder, Mike Koedinger, followed by a fireside chat between researcher and author Dr Ayala Panievsky and RTL journalist Caroline Mart. The conversation examined the growing pressures facing journalism, from populism and digital manipulation to new forms of censorship and political intimidation.

Conversation with Dr. Ayala Panievsky:  “Everything that is valuable in journalism, AI can’t do”

Researcher, former journalist and author of “The New Censorship: How the War on the Media Is Taking Us Down”, Dr Ayala Panievsky was in Luxembourg this week for the launch of the Mike Koedinger Foundation. In an interview with Paperjam, she warns that censorship has become more elusive, that artificial intelligence (AI) cannot replace journalism’s core mission, and that the profession’s future will depend on solidarity, resilience and the ability to hold power to account.
